Week Five
Week five probably was not as productive as we would have liked it to be progress wise. Altogether though, I would say that we got a lot of information from testing that we needed. With the new batteries that we received, it is now a lot easier to boil the water. The water now boils around 10-15 seconds rather than 3-5 minutes. As well as testing the new batteries, there was testing done with the solar panels as well, and they are to the voltage that they need to be in order to properly charge the batteries. Along with testing each of the parts that we bought, we also were growing lima beans that we will be testing with our project. When our project is done and ready to be completed, the lima beans will be placed inside of our project in order to test to see if our project is actually capable of doing what we would like it to do. After all the testing was done, we 3-D printed some parts that are going to be used inside of the bucket that we have in order to act as a holder for our plants. The roots will be dropped through a whole into water that will satisfy the plants' need for it. The water that the plants receive will be the boiled and filtered water that will later be condensed back into water through a cooling tube. That is all that happened week five, but there is a lot of progress being done and it should turn out to be a success. (3-D Print and Lima Bean plants will be shown in the week five pictures page.)
